The federal minister of the territory of the capital, Nyesom Wike, said that no quantity of criticism will derail the commitment of the administration of President Bola Tinubu to complete the abandoned projects in Abuja.
On Tuesday, a former senator, who represented Kaduna Central in the national assembly, Shehu Sani, urged President Tinubu to reject the redenomination of the Abbuja International Conference Center (ICC) after him.
“The International Conference Center Abuja was built by Ibb. The president should reject the restoration of the place with his name,” wrote Sani Tuesday on his official Facebook page.
Responding to Sani and other critics on Friday, during the commissioning of the APO-Wassa road, one of the key access routes as part of the Outer Southern Expressway (Osex) project, he lashed out against those who called detractors, who, according to him, deliberately ignore the reality of development that is established through the capital of the nation.
“If you want to die because we have appointed the international conference center renewed after Mr. President, go to die. I have lands to bury you. If you cannot praise someone who has done well for the country, then the problem is yours. These are not small policies. We are focused on real development, not on the sound of social media.
“Yes, we are politicians and the criticisms are part of the game. But this does not mean that you should lie or pretend not to see what is obvious. If God has given you your eyes and still choose not to see, then remain blind. It’s your choice,” he said.
