Social Lagos, Gail Fajemmbola, arrested for alleged conversion, leasing of the Banana Island apartment

The police headquarters in Abuja arrested and detained the Socialite, Gail Fajemmbola, for alleged conversion and renting an apartment that was asked to temporarily occupy Banana Island, Lagos.

According to reports, the aforementioned apartment is owned and managed by Olutoyl Summer Development and Services Limited.

In a petition dated June 13, 2025 and addressed to the Police General Inspector (IGP), the Tenuta lawyer, Legal Resources Alliance said that the apartment was initially released to Fajemmbola for humanitarian reasons only for her to forge subsequent documents that claim the property of the apartment for the purpose of renting to unsuspected customers.

“It is important to emphasize that Mrs. Gail Fajambola was initially authorized to temporarily reside in the apartment rigorously for humanitarian reasons based on her reasons of homeless at that moment. This act of kindness by our client was never intended to confer leases or authority at Sublet”, reads partly.

The petition has also detailed that Fajembola through his company, Gif Energy Resources Limited, presumably not only rented the apartment, but has received the rent for the sum of N100 million in the last four years without notifying or returning the same to the owner of the apartment.

In the meantime, the officers of the Police headquarters in Abuja have collected the Fajembola with the hiring that the investigations on the petition will be quick and professionally managed.
