The Nigerian entertainment industry is mourning after the death of a producer, actor, and director of Nollywood Veterans.

Peters, aged 49, died peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Toronto, Canada, after a prolonged illness.

The news of his death was confirmed by his family through his official Instagram page, which stated, “With a deep sadness that we announced the passage of the Kayode Peters Adewumi that we love, who died peacefully this morning … KP challenged, challenging, and conquered the old disease until his last breath.”

Known as “KP,” Kayode Peters is an important figure on Nigerian television and theater. He received broad recognition of his work in popular comedy comedy such as “Flatmates” and “My Flatmates,” where he also appeared as a koko character.

His career began in 2000 after graduating from the University of Lagos, and he quickly made a name for himself with production such as “The Twilight Zone” and contribution to “Big Family” and “Becomes Farouk.” Peters are also known for directing the iconic episode “Papa Ajasco and Company.”
