The police command in the State of Gombe claims to have arrested a 35 -year -old man for criminal conspiracy and possession of counterfeit US dollars.

DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the public relations official of the Command said this in a declaration in Gombe on Wednesday.

Abdullahi said that the suspicion was arrested about 2:04 pm, by his staff connected to the division of the Lawanti airport who were in surveillance.

According to him, our officers on Saturday while in surveillance arrested and brought to the Amada police station a 35-year-old man who is an indigenous of the village of Kuji Kwadon, area of โ€‹โ€‹the local government Yamaltu-Daba.

โ€œThe suspect was found in possession of suspected dollar bankruptcy of the United States, which he tried to use to deceive the unsuspecting members of the public.

โ€œThe preliminary investigations revealed that it was in possession of $ 10 pieces of 100 dollars suspected of being false.

โ€œWhen converted to Naira in the current exchange rate, the amount is equivalent to N1.500,000.

“He also had N10,000 in Nigerian currency; everyone was hidden inside his internal short pants and recovered as exhibitions.”

The manufacturer of images of the command added that during the interrogation, the suspicion confessed the crime, but said that the counterfeit currency was given to the trade by his accomplice.

Abdullahi said that efforts were ongoing to arrest the said accomplice and recover multiple exhibitions, adding that the investigations were still in progress.

He reiterated the commitment of the command in guaranteeing the safety of state residents.
