ACN Alliance with NPDP, others took Buhari 3.2 million votes in 2015 – Boss Mustapha

A former Federation Government Secretary, Boss Mustapha, said that on Wednesday the 2013 alliance between the Nigerian Action Congress (ACN) and the New People’s Democratic Party (NPDP) contributed 3.2: million votes to win the former President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 election.

ACN led by the President of Bola Tinubu at the time and NPDP, a faction that separated from the ruling party at that time and was led by former Vice President Atikar Abubakar in collaboration with the All Nigerian Party Party (ANPP) who had died and Congress for Progressive Changes (CPC) to form all Progressive Congress (APC) in front of 2015.

Buhari, who is an APC candidate, defeated incumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan, in the election.

Mustapha, who spoke in a public presentation about “According to the President: Lessons from the experience of a presidential spokesman,” a book written by a former presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, said 3.2 million votes were added to 12.2 million buhari to secure the APC victory in the election.

The former SGF said: “In early 2013, as the leader of the congress for progressive changes, President Buhari officially asked and supported the creation of the BPK Committee Committee, part of the broader coalition development process that united the ACN-PARTAI where I served as Deputy Chairperson of the National.

“We also have a committee for our own transition combination, ANPP, and a small portion of the others. And elements of the ruling party, through new PDP groups that separate themselves, ratification and participation, along with other party leaders such as the President of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who is the Chairperson of the Anpp Center Supervisory Board.

“This causes a significant participation under the banner of the Congress of all progressive. The coalition built and opened the way for the first democratic defeat of the ruling party in the history of Nigeria. President Integrity of the Buhari, national stature, and disciplinary message is the center of the breakthrough.

“Not only that, for us at ACN, I do not intend to generate controversy, but I will make you dare to declare this – that the merger in 2013 is a midwife to bring Buhari or make the President Buhari.

“Because we saw the sound statistics that came to the table. In the 2003 election against Obasanjo, Buhari surveyed 12.7 million votes. In the 2007 election against Yar’adua, he received 6.6 million votes after the PDP released the engine.

“In 2011, it reached 12.2 million votes. And when we considered the merger, we said: What will give us the beginning? It is clear, behind our awareness that the merger with BPK – although BPK at that time only had one state, ACN had six states, and ANPP had three states.

“But when you summarize the total votes that gave us the presidency in 2015, the aggregate was 15.4 million votes.

“So basically, what we brought to the table, the other parties who were in the merger, besides 12.2 million votes, were 3.2 million votes.

“I don’t intend to create controversy, but I say it is the most realistic and pragmatic thing we need to do.”
