The Edo chapter of the Democratic Party Popoli (PDP) has projected and authorized aspirants for the primaries of July 21, in front of the elections of the mixtures of the National Assembly in the State.

Those who are eliminated for the Central Edo Senatorial District ticket are John Yakubu, Friday Itulah and Joe Okojie, following an accurate screening process conducted by the party.

For the Federal Electoral College of Ovia, only one aspirant, Johnny AikPitanyi, was undergoing screening and canceled as the only party candidate for the Chamber of Representatives Bye-election.

A declaration by Chris Nehikhare, advertising secretary, custodian committee of the PDP Edo, said that the screening was conducted on Tuesday at the PDP State Secrettery, located at n. 20 Aiguobasimwin Str. Gra, Benin.

Nehikhare observed that the five -men screening panel was appointed by the National Work Committee of the PDP and chaired by Prof. Okumoko Tube Pearce, with Mr. Chinomo Odoemelan as secretary.

Other members of the Committee include, IMMO DED, Evelyn Promise and David Omar, who actively participated in the screening and authorization exercise.

He observed that the authorization certificates were presented to the aspiring Fridays, to the secretariat of the State Party during an official presentation ceremony.

According to the declaration, AikPitanyi appreciated the members of the Committee for their professionalism, diligence and equity throughout the screening process and the final authorization exercise.

He said: “I sincerely thank the members of the screening committee for their professionalism, equity and diligence. With this game, we are prepared for the trip in front of Ovia”.

“I am ready to make the flag of the PDP fly. With a strong basic support, we will win and deliver a quality and intentional representation to the good people of Ovia.

“I am confident of victory. With the support of the community, Ovia will shine again through the basic focused development and will become the envy of everyone.”
