Tinubu A ‘Pasar Bad Pasar’ president, APC has failed in Nigerians – PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has launched a spicy criticism of the government of the President Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a “bad market” and warns that all progressive Congress (APC) in power will be firmly rejected by Nigeria in the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja on Monday, the Secretary of the National Public Publication of PDP, Hon. DEBO OSOMUNAGBA, said the party was undergoing strategic internal reforms and prepared to offer credible alternatives that reflect the longing of Nigerians.

“This is a government that tells people to fast when they party. There is no patriotic or human of Nigeria, there are no political groups or parties that really feel the pain of the people, will support the President of Tinubu in 2027.

PDP accused the government led by Tinubu to oversee a stable decline in the economy and social order of Nigeria, quoting deepening difficulties, inflation, insecurity, and infrastructure decay as proof of failure.

“I was at the airport yesterday, on Sunday night, from Lagos to Abuja. The airport was empty. I told a friend, this is a reflection of the economy. This aircraft is half full, but the tariff has increased. This is a reality under Tinubu,” Oologiagba shared, using his personal travel experience as a metaphor for the country’s economic challenges.

He further accused APC of losing a touch with the reality of the grassroots and misinterpreting state resources.

“They triggered a crisis in the opposition parties and wrongly managing the economy as far as infrastructure and public services collapsed,” he said.

PDP is also aiming at the handling of government security, referring to the new political violence and intimidation incidents.

“Insurance has become a new normal,” Oologunagba said, quoting murder in the state of Plateau and reported attacks on PDP candidates from Anambra in Abuja.

Apart from elite defeat, Oologunagba stressed that PDP remained rooted deep in Nigeria, with a loyal and tough grassroots base.

“Our strength is in people. Apart from elite defeat, our grass roots remain intact. People do not defect because of the hunger and insecurity they face. They stand with PDP because we are connected to their reality,” he said.

He appointed performance in countries controlled by PDP as a sign of credibility and potential party governance.

“Going to Osun, Oyo, Bayelsa; conduct a review of colleagues from countries controlled by PDP.

PDP spokesman also referred to the new regional government elections.

“If APC is as strong as they say, the number of voters in Lagos will not be 6%. Even their own leaders admit that people do not vote for them. Nigeria is tired, and in 2027, they will express them clearly to the voting,” he said.

Oologunagba gave an update at the upcoming PDP National Executive Committee meeting, scheduled for July 23-25, 2025, which he said would focus on the problem of critical parties in front of the national convention.

“All NEC members, as stipulated in our constitution, section 31, paragraph 1, were invited and expected at the 101st NEC meeting. Inec has been notified. We are guided by our constitution and the rule of law in all our processes,” he said.

Concluding Briefing, Oologunagba reiterates the readiness of PDP to offer competent and loving leadership, promising that the party remains the most worthy platform to lead Nigeria out of the current challenges.

“PDP is the only party that can shift APC; not only by speaking, but with structure, by inheritance, with reach, and with impact. Nigerians call for us to gather and save this nation from the mistakes of the careless and insensitive APC regime,” he said.

When the 2027 election was getting closer, PDP said he was convinced that the Nigerians would unite behind him to restore hope, rebuild the economy, and reclaim the national dignity.
