Just in: Super Falcons Knock Out Holders S’Africa to reach the Wafcon Final

Super Falcons have defeated the defending champions of the Nation Cup -the female African nation (Wafcon), South Africa in a thrilling semifinal meeting on Tuesday.

Nigerian women scored the winner Iniury-time who faced Banyana Banyana to seal the 2-1 victory and anchored in the final.

The South African goal was the first conceded by Nigeria in the tournament, after playing four matches without conceding.

Banyana Banyana experienced unfavorable moments towards the end of the match when forward Gabriele Salgado suffered a bad injury that caused great discomfort among his teammates.

Falcons Justin Madugu had started a 4-0 campaign over Tunisia, before defeating Botswana 1-0 in the second match and secured a goalless draw against Algeria in the last group B match.

Super Falcons continued to Thrash Zambia 5-0 in the quarter-finals last weekend and prepare a tie against the rivals of South Africa.

Rasheedat Ajibade converted a penalty in the first half to place Nigeria ahead, South Africa then equalized at the beginning of the second half with a penalty, before Michelle Alozie scored the winner’s goal.

The dream to win the 10th Wafcon title is now only winning, because Falcons will face Morocco or Ghana in the final.
