The group stated that the move would be at the expense of traditional sovereigns of other ethnic nationality and geopolitical divisions.

Dr. Ezechi Chukwu, secretary of the national advertising of Ohanaeze Ndigbo all over the world, said this in a Sunday declaration in Enugu.

Freedomonline reports that the account approved the second reading.

Chukwu said that Igbo’s body was amazed by logic for such asymmetrical bill from the Senate with its absolute contempt for equity, equity, justice and the principle of the federal character, as sanctioned in the Constitution.

“The Senate in this vein has failed in its ability as a higher legislative carrier and guardian of the democratic mandate of the nation.

“This bill is not only unfair, discriminatory and ethnocentric, it is equally disgusting, reprehensible and questionable.

“There are no ethical considerations, objective metrics and impartial categories for national unity and social justice in a pluralist state such as Nigeria,” Chukwu said.

He said that Ohanaeze Ndigbo asked for the urgent withdrawal of the bill and the need to see him in consideration for ethnic differences, cultural sensitivity, geopolitical balance, inclusive governance and fair representation.

“It is only by doing so the bill Foster National Unity, peaceful coexistence and social stability,” he underlined.
