The Nigerian army has donated a well of industrial water to deal with the problem of portable water in front of the Ohodo community in the area of the local hygbo-Etiti government (LGA) in the state of Enugu.

Inaugurating the well on Saturday, the head of the army staff (Coas), the lieutenant Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, said that the project was a project of great impact destined to return to the company.
Represented by Maj.-Gen. Olyemmi Olatoye, Office General Commaniding (GOC) 82 Division, the Coas said that the project was in honor of the Maj.-Gen. Patrick Eze (retired), former commander of the Nigerian army bomb school.
He said that Coas Coas Civil Cooperation projects are intended to support retirement army officers and appreciate their communities for the sacrificial service of their illustrious child to the army and the nation.
“The idea of the head of the staff of the Army Special Intervention of Civil-Military Cooperation Projects was conceived as part of the efforts to support the communities of the high officers of the Nigerian army, who through years of service and dedication have achieved the degree of greatest general.
“The concept of Coas special intervention projects is to return to people as an essential partners in progress and we have over 200 projects scattered throughout the country carried out with the consultation with the communities.
“The first -rate basic services are provided to integrate the rural development efforts of the government and state communities as they serve to bring solutions to urgent needs, improve difficulties and improve the quality of life of people,” said Coas.
Previously, the head of civil-military affairs, Mag.-Gen. Gold Chibuisi, said that the industrial water well had to supply clean water and domestic water for the population of the Ohodo community.
Chibuisi described Eze as a professional officer with an indelible and enviable service record for the nation that has lasted for three decades, as well as being decisive for the successes recorded during his service.
“This project was performed by Maj.-Gen. Pi Eze (retired) has a 30 kva soundproof generator, an electricity supply, a safety-energy safety lighting, security surveillance cameras digitized to solar energy, aerial drivers and multiple distributors,” he said.
In his observations, Eze praised the Coasses for the approval and financing of the project and used it to bring the solution to the long -standing challenge of the lack of drinking water in his community and make his people happy.
He observed that the water problem was so serious in the community that during the dry season, the community always acquires 1,000 liters of oil tanker water for N50.000.
The traditional sovereign of the community, Igwe Hycient Eze, thanked the Coas and the Goc for the high -impact project and ensured full protection of the community for the structure.
“We appreciate that the Nigerian army comes to bring a solution to the long challenge of our community, while we endure a great financial burden to obtain water,” said the traditional sovereign.
An indigenous, Nicholas Agbo, also thanked the army for the historical intervention.
Highpoints of the event were the delivery of the structure to the traditional sovereign of the community and presentation of gift objects to some widows of the community from the wife of Maj.-Gen. Eze, Mrs Regina Eze.
