FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Korea Republic forces Falconets to 1-1 draw

Nigeria and South Korea finished 1-1 in the last friendly match between the two teams before the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup finals starting on Saturday.

Striker Mary Mamudu was back in form to lead the Nigerian Under-20 women’s team, Falconets, on Tuesday afternoon, but the Asians equalized from the penalty spot with 12 minutes remaining.

The draw followed a 1-0 defeat to host nation Poland on Friday in Brzeg, and leaves the 2010 and 2014 World Cup silver medalists in good spirits ahead of their first match of the competition, against tenacious Spain in Sosnowiec on Monday night.

The Falconets will also face China in Sosnowiec on Thursday the 10thth September, before traveling to Lódź, where they will face New Caledonia on Sunday the 13th.th September.
