Originally scheduled to face British veteran Danny Williams, the confrontation has taken a dramatic turn when Williams has retired for unleashed reasons.

Ikemefula Charles “Ike” Ibeabuchi was born on February 2, 1973. He competed from 1994 to 1999 in the heavyweight division. He defeated the highly undefeated contender David Tua in 1997 and another contender and future World World Champion Chris Byrd in 1999.
Boxrec classified it as the heavyweight No.8 of the world in 1997 and 1998, and as heavyweight No.10 in 1999. After compiling an impressive 20-0 record with 15 knockouts, the natural talent and the potential of Ibeabuchi inside the ring were finally eclipsed by emotional instability and violent tendencies in his personal life. After a series of clashes with the Police, he was imprisoned in Las Vegas in July 1999 after presenting a statement of Alford for charges for inappropriate sexual behavior. This also marked the end of his professional boxing career.
It is now expected that an opponent based in Nigeria intervenes and proves the power and pedigree of Ibeabuchi in front of a local crowd.
