In a match characterized by defensive discipline and intense midfield battles, neither team could find the decisive touch in the final third at the Mestalla Stadium.

Athletic Bilbao controlled the majority of possession with 63% and pushed to find space through Iñaki Williams and Robert Navarro, but Valencia’s determined low block, expertly led by César Tárrega and goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski, refused to budge.

Valencia looked dangerous on the counterattack through Arnaut Danjuma and Javi Guerra, registering 13 shots in total, but Unai Simón was alert between the posts for the visitors, making key saves to keep a clean sheet.

Despite tactical adjustments and second-half substitutions from both benches, including the introduction of Harvey Elliott for Valencia, clear scoring opportunities remained scarce as the respective defenses remained firmly on top.

The goalless draw leaves both teams sharing the points, with Valencia continuing their constant search for consistency in their tactical rebuild, while Athletic take a hard-earned point back to the Basque Country.
