The Minister of Flight Development and Aerospace, Festus Keyamo, on Sunday announced the suspension of the national strike which was previously scheduled to begin on Monday by the Aviation Union.
Keyamo, in a statement about the official X grip, said the decision followed its intervention and decision of senior ministry officials, in addition to the management of the Nigerian Air Air Management Agency (name).
“We are happy to announce that, after our intervention, the strike planned by the flight union that will begin tomorrow has been suspended,” the Minister wrote, noting that the long relationship with labor leaders had helped secure the breakthrough.
The strike, which was threatened by the National Air Budget Union (NUATE), the Nigerian Air Transportation Services Staff Association (Atsansan), Nigerian Aviation Professional Association (ANAP), and the United Public Company Union, Technical Service Staff and Civil Recreation (AUCPTRRE), driven by better demands for better demands for increasing the Yamo remoteration.

The trade union, in a joint statement dated August 8, remembered issuing a new direction to start the industry’s action after the notification of withdrawal of services in July they ended. The strike, set for 5 am on August 11, is expected to paralyze the nationally navigation and traffic navigation services, disrupting domestic and international flights.
However, the union said “positive developments” have emerged, quoting the release of the letter “No Objection” from the budget office to national income, salary and commission wages, as well as guarantees from name management regarding new wage payments with August salaries.
“To show good faith, our union has made the decision to postpone the strike … waiting for the situation about the main problems at the end of August 2025,” the statement said.
The union urges all staff names to keep hoping when monitoring the situation.
