The former Federation Government Secretary (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has launched a scathing criticism of the administration of the Tinubu Bola President, accusing him nepotism, poor economic management, and election malpractice.
Speaking of today’s politics, a television program channel, on Monday, Lawal said he was grateful not to be part of the current government, emphasizing that he would not be able to overcome it under his leadership.
“I thank God that I did not make a mistake for being in this government AB Initio,” he said. “If I am in this government, I might be fired for a long time, killed or resigned.”
The former SGF accused that the appointment under the President of Tinubu had been very inclined for the ethnic group of Joruba.
“I can’t go to a meeting where 99 percent of participants are Yoruba. The tendency is that they finish the meeting in their language, and I just sit there,” Lawal said.
He remembered the incident during the 2023 campaign, referring to the comments of “Emi Lokan” Tinubu in the State of Ogun and claimed that some presidential supporters underestimate the North.
“The problem with Joruba is that when you support them and they win, they behave as if they have conquered you. They will not calculate your support,” he said.
In the economy, Lawal blamed the administration of administrative handling of the removal of fuel subsidies announced in May 2023, with the reason that Nigeria had not seen concrete benefits. He claimed that regardless of the public declaration, the government still effectively paid subsidies.
The Head of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) also considered the 2023 presidential election, accusing all the progressive Congress (APC) of consulting a poll.
When asked who he believed to win, Lawal answered: “Peter Obi won the election.”
