Jannik Sinner ends Terence Atmane’s dream to react …

Jannik Sinner, the main seed and the reigning champion concluded the French Dream Run Terence Atmane at Cincinnati Open with a 7-6 (4) victory, 6-2 to reach the final of the heating event of the United States Open.

Sinner, playing for his 24th birthday, won a remarkable 91% of his first service points, did not face a single pause point during the 86 -minute match and converted two of the five pause points in his first career meeting with Atmane, the world n. 136.

“Very, very difficult challenge,” Sinner said in court after being serenely with a happy birthday by the crowd. “Every time I play against someone completely new, it’s very difficult.

“I knew I had to be very, very attentive and my mentality today was in a good place. I feel like I had managed the situations on the field very well.”

The Italian world n. 1 had full hands in a strictly contested first set that had an imperious exhibition from both men and not an opportunity of a single pause point for both players.

Sinner, who lost only three points in the service in the opening set, kept loving a third consecutive game to force the tie, where Atmane delivered the first point to his opponent with a double fault and from there the Italian never looked back.

The Us Open Challenge, Australian Open and Wimbledon opened the second set with a nine-minute service, then kept on love before finally breaking Atmane for a 3-1 advantage that gave him the pillow he needed.

Sinner followed him with another estate to love 4-1 and almost end up all hope for Atmane, who beat the first 10 players Taylor Fritz and Holger Rune on his way to his semifinal Maesters 1000 ATP Masters 1000.

With Atmane who served at 2-5 and tried to stay in the game, Sinner quickly skipped 0-40 before sealing the victory in his third point of the game when the Frenchman sent a right to the net. Sinner will face seed n. 2, Carlos Alcaraz or Alexander Zverev in Monday’s final.
