The governor of Kogi Ododo loses father

Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, father of the governor of the state of Kogi Ahmed Usman Ododo, died.

According to a declaration issued at the end of Monday 18 August 2025 by the Commissioner for information and communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the elderly Ododo died at the age of 83.

“The government of the state of Kogi regrets to announce the disappearance of the father of the executive governor of the state of Kogi, the deceased Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, who returned from his creator a few hours ago at the age of 83”, reads the declaration.

The government said that Janzah (funeral prayers) will be conducted in line with Islamic rites.

“We ask Allah (SWT) to forgive his deficiencies, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdus. We also pray that Almighty Allah guarantees the governor, his family and the entire family he heard the strength to endure this great loss”, added Fanwo.
