Fenerbahce Sack Mourinho after a season …

The Turkish team Fenerbahce separated from the Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho after only one season in charge of the club.

Fenerbahce announced it in a statement on Friday.

The club wrote on X: “Jose Mourinho, technical director of our first professional football team, who carried out his duties starting from the 2024-2025 season, separated with us.

“We thank him for his efforts for our team to date and for him to wish him success in his future career.”

The decision to lay down Mourinho, 62, comes two days after the club was unable to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season following a defeat of the playoffs against Benfica.

The former manager of Chelsea and Real Madrid joined Fenerbahce in June 2024.
