EL-RUFAI POLITICAL PERFORMANCE IMPROVING AS KADUNA GOV-SHEHU SANI

Former MPs who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, accused the former Governor of Kaduna Nasir El-Rufai, growing and fostering political thieves during his term of office.

Sani, who made accusations when speaking on the TVC program, politics tonight on Monday, said El-Rufai did not have a correct understanding of democracy because he never participated in the struggle to return it in Nigeria.

The former member of the parliament also stated that El-Rufai was bitter that he was ruled out by the administration of President Tinubu Bola, therefore he did everything possible to make the government in bad light.

“For people like Nasir, when they find themselves in a position or office, they don’t know what democracy is because they don’t fight for it,” Sani said.

“He was an unknown figure before 1999 and became a PDP (member). He had never been in a cell for one. He had never been in prison. He never used handcuffs.

“When you see me here, I have lived a difficult time in my life. I have gone through many prisons, I have gone through many police officers. I wore a prison uniform. I wore a feet, I wore a handcuff as a political prisoner who fought for this 25 -year -old democracy,” he said.

The former senator also accused El-Rufai of fostering a culture of political violence in Kaduna during his term of office as governor.

“To show you that Nasir El-Rufai is the founder and architect of thugs, political violence and bloodshed in the state of Kaduna, in the time he served as governor from 2015 to 2023, he had raised a group of thugs who became unofficial forces used against political opponents.

“He did not care when he was in the office. He did not listen to anyone. Nobody could talk to him. Nobody could warn him. No one can hold it. That is why he can fire thousands of teachers and be free. He can fire thousands of civil servants and be free. He can destroy anyone’s house,” Sani added.
