The federal government has filed a demand for terrorism against two Senior Ansaru commanders at the Federal High Court, Abuja, for their alleged role in the attack on violence in Nigeria.
Ansaru is a group of terror associated with al-Qaeda and has coordinated several attacks in the northeast of Nigeria.
The suspects are Mahmud Usman, also known as Abu Bara’a Abbas/Mukhtar, who is a group emir, and his deputy, Mahmud Al-Nigeri, aka Mamuda Night.
National Security Advisor (NSA), Nuhu thousand, on August 16 confirmed the arrest of two main leaders of the Ansaru terrorist group by security forces.

Thousand told reporters in Abuja that the operation led by intelligence carried out between May and July beheaded the group leadership related to Al-Qaeda and handled “the most decisive blow to them.”
He stated that the operation was carried out in collaboration with the armed forces, intelligence institutions, and other security stakeholders.
NSA added that the two suspects had been in the Nigerian list that were most filled over for years.
The State Service Department (DSS) in the accusation sheet seen by journalists on Friday includes accusations against them including leading terrorist organizations, funding their activities, recruiting members, and planning violence operations throughout the country.
