A journalist based in Ibadan, Ojo Peter, was confirmed dead after being hit by suspicious armed thieves around the Mole-Ook Axis Ado of Ibadan.

The accident, which took place on August 18, 2025, initially was thought to be linked to health until his younger brother, Enahoro Peter, clarified that Ojo was attacked for the transversal bag he transported.

According to Enahoro, the witnesses reported that, despite the fact that Ojo shouts that the bag did not contain money, he was hit in his back and robbed.

Ojo, a former extra -parrot journalist who later worked with Daily Monitor, was widely lined after the Council of State of Oyo of the Union of Journalists of Nigeria (Nuj) announced his disappearance on September 7.

ENAHORO said that the police of the Orita Challenge Division contacted the family after the accident.

“This is a person who left the house in perfect health, just to be killed while trying to make ends meet,” he said.

He also said that his brother’s damaged phone was recovered on the scene, through which the family was contacted.

Following the attack, the police investigations led to the arrest of a suspicion, while another died during a clash with the agents.

Oyo’s state police command confirmed the development.

His spokesperson, CSP Adwale Osfese, revealed that two suspicions related to a series of robberies in Ibadan have been intercepted with a motorcycle around theimolephalapha.
