One year passed, CDS Musa failed to meet his oath to eliminate the famous Kingpin bandit, Bello Turji

This is a full year today since the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) Major General Chris Musa, promised Nigeria that the famous bandit leader, Bello Turji, would be captured or eliminated to end his terror government.

General Musa had, during a press conference in Abuja on September 10, 2024, boasting that the Turji government on terror in which he arrested Zamfara and Sokoto countries to make up for a ransom, would end in a short time such as the army, under his supervision, having everything needed to issue terrorists that continued to cause Havoc in Zamfara, Zamfara, had terrorists.

Before making an oath, Turji had turned himself into an almost invisible entity that went about kidnapping, killing, injuring and destroying the community under its control.

Worried about the screams of innocent Nigerians, Moses had promised that the government of Turji would soon be something from the past.

During a press conference, Gen.
Moses described the most sought -after bandit leader as a crazy person who would soon meet his waterloo, and had vowed that he would soon be arrested and his terror government ended.

“About Turji’s problem, as I said, he is just a crazy person who feels strength, but I can bet you that it is only a matter of time,” Musa said.

“We will get it and I can convince you in the shortest possible time, we will overcome the problem.”

The promise sounded like music in Nigeria’s ears, especially for those who received a deadly attack. They believe in Nigerian military skills and their ability to issue Turji. But one year later, the oath had fallen flatly because the bandit leader continued to develop and had become a kind of puzzle that had opposed every form of conventional and frontal war methods to catch it.

Apart from the guarantees of the CD and other promises from the military hierarchy, Turji remains difficult to understand, triggering speculation that he may be unbeaten, has an informant in a security circle that always gives a tip every time they approach him, or he is just untouched!

One case like that is the new invasion of one of the hiding places and destroyed food storage facilities. In a well -coordinated invasion. Putra Turji was killed along with several key lieutenants but how he managed to escape remain a mystery.

Turji has raged and becomes bolder in carrying out a deadly attack on the community under control, kidnapping and collecting ransom at will and killing victims without any regret.

At one time, Turji added another dimension during his terror government when he recorded his actions in the video and uploaded it to mock security agents.

In one of such videos, Turji, wearing full military fatigue and held sophisticated weapons had dared to call the head of the Army by name and accused him of getting all weapons in the military warehouse and chasing him.

In another video, Turji shows several victims who were kidnapped and insisted that the ransom of N50 million he placed for their release must be paid before he released it.

In another video, Gembong Bandit mocks the Nigerian government and security operators, asking them when the chase for him will begin. He then asked a rhetoric whether they were afraid of him.

When one of his close allies and mentors, Bako Wurgi, was captured by Nigerian troops, Turji released another video where he issued a threat of violence including the murder of hostages if the Wurgi was not immediately released.

And it is hoped that he should make a threat when he surrounded several communities in Sokoto and kidnapped more than 50 residents while the not determined amounts were also killed.

Apart from Moses, Director of Defense Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, also added his voice to Medan.

When giving a briefing to reporters about military operations in 2024 in Abuja, Buba described Turji as a dead person who would soon go down like most of his lies who had been eliminated by the military.

“Indeed, Bello Turji is just a dead person who goes on. Will insult to try to take problems or join words with a terrorist. Previously, there were other terrorists who boasted that they would deal with security forces. Today they have all been issued. We will do the same with other terrorist leaders like him,” Buba said.

“All the terrorist leaders we see today, before they, there are some who think that they are champions with champions. Where they are? They are buried. They are dead.

“And I convince you that those who are the leaders today, commanders or whatever they call themselves, only careful. I will be from this platform telling you that we have bury them (terrorist leaders) on the battlefield, because it is their fate in 2025. They are the dead people.

However, one full year has passed and terrorists are still roaming freely, carrying out killing activities and killing innocent people, women and children with impunity that raises questions if they will be issued or like many people believe if they get support from existing strengths.

The Nigerians were waiting with a breath of being held back to see if and when Bello Turji would be arrested to fulfill the oath made by the Chief of Staff of the State Defense, Major General Chris Musa.
