The police on Friday charged a 27 -year -old accountant, Okay Peter, in the Court of Judge Badagry in Lagos for alleged N4.5 million fraud.
Peter was charged with the accusation of a count of stealing.
He, however, claimed to be innocent for the accusation.
Prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed a violation on September 5 at the Mega Mart Mall Limited in the Mowo Badagry area.
Ekpo accused that the defendant deceived the company N4.5 million from sales capital under his supervision, complainant property, Mr. David Uniugbe.

He said the complaint reported the case to the police, and the defendant was arrested.
According to him, the violation violated the provisions of Article 287 (7) Lagos Criminal Law, 2015.
Judge Head, Mr. Nurudeen Layeni, gave a guarantee to the defendant in the number of N1 million with two guarantees in the same amount.
Layeni said that one of the guarantees must be a community leader, who must deposit N50,000 in the court clerk’s account.
He postponed this case until October 10 to be mentioned.
