Tobi Amusan wins the silver medal in the 100 -meter obstacle final in the 2025 World Championship

The queen of the track of Nigeria, Tobi Amusan, has won the silver medal in the obstacles of 100 meters female in the World Championship of Tokyo 2025, registering 12.29s bright in the final.

Amusan was held the high pressure final in the National Stadium, ending just behind Duitaji Kambundji in Switzerland, who hit gold in a new national record of 12.24.

The National Sports Commission (NSC) praised Amusan’s remarkable achievement, noting that his consistency and fighting spirit continue to inspire millions.

Excmo Bukola Olopade, general director of the NSC, declared that “Tobi Amusan has proud Nigeria once again. Winning silver in the world championship is not a small feat, and doing so with such a class shows its world -class skill and resistance.

“She remains a symbol of hope, determination and excellence for our nation. The whole country is high to celebrate her achievement.”

Grace Stark of the United States took bronze at 12.34s, while American fellow Masai Russell arrived fourth at 12.44s.

Early in the day, Amusan reserved his place in the final with a victory of the dominant semifinal, with 12.36s (-0.2) to stop Nadine Visser from the Netherlands (12.45s) and Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland (12.51s).

His safe career, which was the fastest in all the semifinals pointed out his intention and prepared the stage for his winning performance of the medal in the final.
