The world record holder Tobi Amusan wins silver in 100 meters obstacles – Thage

The owner of the world record of Nigeria in the 100 -meter obstacle, Tobi Amusan won a silver medal in the 100 meters female obstacles at the world athletics championships in Tokyo 2025.

Amusan ran 12.29 seconds to take second place, giving Nigeria his first tournament medal.

The reigning champion had a slow start from the blocks but showed his strength of the brand in the final stages, almost capturing the winner, Ditaji Kambundji of Switzerland, who claimed the gold medal with a new national record of 12.24 seconds, while Grace Stark of the United States won the bronze in 12.34 seconds.

Danielle Williams of Jamaica arrived seventh in 12.53 seconds and Nadine Visser of the Netherlands was eighth in 12.56 seconds.

The finish of the AMUSAN podium confirms its reputation of consistency at the highest levels and marks a strong start for Nigeria to the championships.
