21st thanksgiving harvest: Church offers hope to the orphanage, gives food, other objects

As part of the activities lined up to mark its 21st thanksgiving anniversary of the harvest, the Celestial Church of Christ, the parish of salvation, a village man, Wednesday, donated food products, gifts and other essential elements for the children’s house in Abuja in Karu.

Blueprint reports that some of the items donated to the orphanage included rice, garri, noodles, biscuits, water, drinks among others.

Other activities lined up for the celebration during the week include a cooking competition, a praise night, an environmental renovation and thanksgiving service on Sunday.

Speaking with journalists during the visit, the charging shepherd, the evangelist Adeniyi Samuel, offered a message of hope to children and caregivers at home.

He also invited philanthropists and organizations with public shoulders to join to support orphanages and children in need throughout the country.

“Children are not hopeless; they are tomorrow’s future. Among these could be the next president of Nigeria. Preaching hope to them and let them believe in God.

“Any structure or society that removes Jesus Christ from his foundation will not stand. We must maintain God first and continue this work together,” he said.

He highlighted the importance of reaching the least privileges in society, as indicated in the scriptures.

“We are here in commemoration of our 21st thanks of the harvest. According to the Scriptures, this is the time to reach the least privileged: widows and orphans in our society.

“We have chosen to come to the home of Abuja’s children to extend the hands of friendship. Today marks the beginning of our collection activities, which will last the week until Sunday.”

Even speaking, heavenly Mother Gladys Adeniyi expressed joy for the spiritual connection between the Church and the orphanage over the years.

“We stayed here in 2005 during our first harvest and, with the divine guide, we returned again for the 21st. It is not by chance – it is the work of the Holy Spirit,” he said.

He thanked God for the life of children, noting the visible progress and well -being of those who had grown over the years.

“My message to children is to trust more in God. It is the only one who can do the impossible. If they believe in him and their destiny, all things are possible.”

For his part, the educational officer of the house, Efayemiode Lekan, while recognizing the challenges that face the orphanage, thanked God for his mercy and the church for the gentle gesture.

““ Yes, we have challenges like everyone else, but we are grateful. God was merciful. With the help of individuals and organizations like yours, we believe that the future will be better.

“On behalf of the staff and management of the Abuja children’s house, let’s say a great thanks. We are deeply grateful that you thought about this celebration.

“It is not all the orphanage who get such recognition. We feel Benedetti that you remembered and brought all these gifts.”
