Northern senators rejoice with the new emir of Gumel

Serving Northern Senators on Saturday rejoiced with the new Emir of Gumel, His Royal Highness, Lawan Ahmed Mohammed on his appointment and ascension to the throne of his ancestors.

The Senators in a statement signed by their Chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua (Katsina Central), congratulated the government and people of Jigawa State on the emergence of the new Emir just as they commiserated with the people of Gumel Emirate on the demise of the late Emir, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, CONwhose 45-year reign was characterized by service, peace and devotion.

The statement reads: “The Northern Senators Forum warmly welcomes the appointment and ascension of His Royal Highness, Lawan Ahmed Mohammed, PhD, as the 17th Emir of Gumel Emirate, Jigawa State, and extends its heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Jigawa State

“We have absolute confidence in the new emir’s ability to lead the Emirate of Gumel. His academic achievements, practical experience and years of service have prepared him for the responsibilities of the revered throne.

“²With an excellent education that includes a PhD in information and communications systems, His Royal Highness’s background in mathematics, computer science, engineering and cybersecurity will enable him to promote education, youth development, innovation and sustainable growth.

“The Northern Senators Forum assures His Royal Highness of its continued prayers, support and constructive engagement.
