British teenagers were accused of the US for the role of hacking ‘spiderred spider’

The US Department of Justice has charged a British teenager suspected of being a key member of the famous cyberspace group “Spidered Spider,” which connects it to more than 120 hacking incidents targeting companies and large institutions.

According to Prosecutor Federal, the 19-year-old suspect, whose name was detained because of the ongoing process in the UK-accused of regulating a series of high profile violations using social engineering, exchanging SIMs, and phishing attacks.

The scattered profit, also known as Octo Tempest, is believed to have a bond with a wider ransomware ecosystem, including the Alphv/Blackcat group.

The indictment claims teenagers and their colleagues compromise employees’ credentials in large US companies in all industries such as telecommunications, finance, and games. This violation reportedly gave an access group to sensitive data, internal systems, and in some cases, financial accounts.

“Profit -profit that spread represent one of the most aggressive and persistent cyberspace groups that we have seen in recent years,” said a senior DOJ official. “Their attacks not only cause financial losses but also interfere with operations for countless businesses.”

The teenager now faces a lot of charges, including wire fraud, computer fraud, and theft of exacerbated identity, which brings the potential sentence of several decades in prison if found guilty in the United States. US officials are said to work closely with British law enforcement in the extradition process, although legal experts remind that the process can take months or even years.
