EFCC for Korean Police Agency Partners About War Against Financial Crimes

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) will partner with the National Investigation Office, the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA), to overcome economic and financial crimes and strengthen institutional capacity between the two countries.

According to EFCC’s statement, the MoU focuses on exchange of information, sharing the best practices, capacity building, institutional strengthening, research collaboration, coordinating asset recovery, public education, supporting support platforms, training exchanges, international cooperation and flexible expansion.

Speaking of this arrangement, Olukoyede stated that the pact was a formalization of bilateral commitment to increase cooperation in combating economic and financial crimes between the two institutions.

He stated that “the partnership is in harmony with his strategic agenda on the focus of economic development, transparency and accountability and improvement of Nigeria international images as contained in the three branch agenda on his appointment by Bola President Ahmed Tinubu in 2023.”

“This partnership represents more than just institutional cooperation. This realizes our joint commitment to create a safer and more transparent global financial ecosystem.

“We create a model of how the state can collaborate effectively against crimes that do not recognize limits,” he said, adding that anti-corruption work was basically about building a stronger society.
