The Governor of the State Rivers, Siminaayi Fubara, on Friday dissolved the State Pension Council.
In a special announcement issued on Port Harcourt by the Head of State Service, Mrs. Inyingi Brown, the governor directed the office of the State Accountant General to handle the function until the new council was formed.
He ordered members to submit all the properties and assets of the council they had to the Administration Director.
However, there is no reason given to dissolve the council.
The statement reads: “The executive governor of the State Rivers, His Majesty, Sir Siminaayi Fubara, has approved the direct dissolution of the Rivers’s Pension Council.
“As a result, the Rivers State General Accounting Office, henceforth, will handle the function of the council.
