The United States government raised the restrictions on the visas previously placed on Ghana.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who confirmed the development in an X -ray assignment, said that the political reversal came after months of prolonged diplomatic commitment and negotiations.
Noting that the citizens of Ghana are now suitable for requesting US visas to five years, Ablakwa has said that the new agreement also includes “improved consular privileges” for Ghana travelers.
“Restrictions on US visas imposed on Ghana have been reversed. The Ghanaians can now be suitable for visa over years to the over years and other enhanced consular privileges.
“This good news was communicated to me directly by us under the secretary of state for political affairs, Allison Hooker, in a bilateral meeting today, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. “It will be remembered that the United States has imposed the restrictions on visas on Ghana and in other countries in July of this year. The revocation of the restrictions follows the recent cooperation of Ghana in accepting the US deportees from Nigeria and other nations of West Africa, a problem that had diplomatic relationships stretched and pushed Washington to impose travel measures.

His administration has tried to conclude an agreement with multiple African countries on the hiring of deportees as part of his campaign to curb immigration through high -profile incursions and deportations.
Over the past two months, several documents without documents have been accepted by Rwanda, Eswatini and South Sudan.
In particular, the deportation agreement between the United States and Ghana has arrived among the excursions rates on Ghanaian goods and visa restrictions for Ghanaian citizens.
