Fha Mortgage Bank: FG Commissionions New headquarters in Gwarimpa, it expands to 20 states

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Tuesday, commissioned the new headquarters of the FHA Mortgage Bank in 3rd Avenue, Gwarimpa, Abuja, with the ambition to expand to over 20 branches nationally in the next two years and to grow its basic customer base for 100,000 families.

Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja, during the event, the MD/CEO, Fha Mortgage Bank (Fhamb) Limited, Dr. Hayatuddeen Atiku Awwal, said that the bank aims to expand to at least 20 branches at national level in the next two years and to grow its basic customer base for 100,000 families.

He said he hopes to resize his portfolio of n100 billion medium -term loans and to launch mortgage products of the diaspora, giving Nigerians abroad the opportunity to own houses at home.

He said: “The FHA Mortgage Bank was incorporated in 1997 as a Federal Housing Authority branch, with a clear mission: to make the ownership of the house for several Nigerians possible. When this management team entered on board, we only inherited an institution, but a dream, the dream of a dream of dreaming of filling the dream of Nigeria. Transforming vision into measurable progress.

“In recent years, the bank has undergone significant transformations. Our customer base has grown exponentially. Thousands of families have been reached through the financing of mortgages, with loan approvals that led to dozens of billions of Naira. Through the National Housing Fund (NHF) window. The 36 states of the Federation, including FCT Abuja.

“Looking to the future, our goals are ambitious but realistic: expanding to at least 20 branches at national level in the next two years, to grow our customer base active to 100,000 families, to resize our medium -term N100 billion loans, to launch mortgage products of the diaspora, giving Nigerians the opportunity to own houses.

“And to deepen the partnerships with pension funds, insurers and partners of international development. All our mortgage properties are proposed as sufficient energy in collaboration with our FHA energy company and an indigenous solar society. We will also continue to support the housing initiatives of the Federal Government, because accommodation at affordable prices is not only a economic question – it is a social necessity and a moral commitment.”

Speaking previously, the CEO/CEO of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Hon. Oyunde Ojo, said that the MD/CEO of the FHA Mortgase Bank is guided by the purpose and oriented towards the solution, therefore it will continue to deliver beyond expectations, adding that FHA is not financed by the Federal Government.

He said: “I always say to people, Rome was not built in one day. For the fact that Rome was not built in one day, we must always recognize those people who have started the trip. We are very happy at this moment that the bank is moving in the right direction, not only as a mortgage bank, but that I go to confidence. We would like your support.

“Please, this building is not also financed by the budget of the Federal Government. The main agency, which is the federal authority for housing construction, and all our consultants have been removed from the national budget since 2003. I have told people, I don’t want to return to the national budget. Sometimes in this country, it has no a little national balance.

“We think out of the box. So that we are thinking from the box, we would be able to finance ourselves rather than fighting with the small money that we have that should be used for critical sectors such as health, education. So this is zero financed by the government, 100% financed by the FHA mortgage bank.

“So we still need your patronage. We will never stop. Fha, Federal Housing Authority of Nigeria, we started this building at national level. We have done all our financials and technical works. And our main mortgage lender in this crossing will be our subsidiary. And there are not always impossible. There are not always impossible. There are always a subsidiary. Only need is to take support for ourselves, believe in ourselves and treat the staff.
