The member of the Board of Directors of Nvbf expresses hope in the future of women’s volleyball
Abuja (Core reporter) Chindu Odozor-Onikeku, a newly elected member of the Council of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), expressed optimism on the future of women’s volleyball players, stating that the future is bright for girls.
Speaking on October 2, 2025, the last day of the first phase of the Premier League tournament of the CGC Volleyball 2025 in Abuja, Odozor-Onikeku praised the constant ascent of women’s volleyball in the country.
As for the performance of the girls at the tournament, he said: “So far we are going well and I think we are gradually coming there, even if there is even more to reach. These experiences have shown the value of perseverance and I am confident that things will continue to improve”.
ODOZOR-HONIKEKU underlined the importance of creating opportunities for girls in volleyball, noting that this support would not only increase sport but also lifting communities.
“What matters most is to build a system for the benefit of both the players and the club in general,” he added. “With a constant effort, through training, tutoring and exposure, Famella’s volleyball in Nigeria will surely reach higher heights”.
