Inclusive growth at the heart of Tinubu’s agenda is the Presidency

The Presidency has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive economic growth and policies aimed at reducing the burden on the general Nigerian public.

‎Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications to the President, Mr. Sunday Dare, stated this on his verified X account on Thursday.

‎His comments follow a recent World Bank Group report that noted persistent levels of poverty in Nigeria despite rising government revenues and rising capital spending.

‎He outlined key programs and reforms that support economic recovery and improve social protection under Tinubu’s administration.

‎Dare emphasized the government’s focus on household welfare through interventions that are measurable and supported by data.

‎He identified Conditional Cash Transfer (BTB) as a flagship initiative, reaching up to 15 million households, with more than ₦297 billion disbursed since 2023.

‎Renewed Hope Ward Development Program (RH-WDEP) was also highlighted as a “major initiative targeting 8,809 constituencies.”

‎This program aims to provide micro-infrastructure, essential services and direct livelihood support to grassroots communities.

‎Dare also noted efforts to consolidate social investment schemes such as N-Power, GEEP loans (TraderMoni, MarketMoni, FarmerMoni), and the School Feeding Programme.

‎These programs aim to protect jobs, support micro-enterprises, and keep children in school.

‎Regarding food security, the presidential aide said the government tackles inflation through the distribution of subsidized wheat, fertilizer support and agricultural mechanization.

‎He added that strategic food reserves are being revitalized to stabilize prices and increase supply.

‎Dare said government investment was also expanded in agriculture, MSMEs and electricity infrastructure to stimulate job creation and reduce the cost of living.

‎He noted that the projects include expanding agricultural value chains, gas-to-power initiatives, and skills development centers across the country.

‎“As these programs mature, Nigerians will begin to experience real improvements in food prices, income and purchasing power,” he said.
