Kano water resources commissioner resigns

Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources, Umar Haruna-Doguwa, has resigned from his post.

Haruna-Doguwa served as Commissioner of Education before being transferred to water resources.

His resignation took effect Monday.

Meanwhile, Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf has accepted the commissioner’s resignation.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, confirmed the development in the state on Tuesday in Kano.

Yusuf expressed his appreciation to the former commissioner for his commitment, loyalty and service to the people and government of Kano State during his tenure.

The governor has appointed Education Commissioner, Ali Haruna-Abubakar-Makoda to oversee water resources pending the appointment of a new commissioner.
