Real Madrid, Bodo, PSG take a big lead in the first leg of the UCL round of 16

Real Madrid beat Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night, sealing a 3-0 win over the English side in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

Manchester City now face a tough task to keep their ambitions alive after Federico Valverde’s brilliant first-half hat-trick put the Spanish side in control of the match.

Prior to this meeting at the Bernabeu, City and Real Madrid had met 15 times in the Champions League, with results evenly divided between wins, losses and draws.

Pep Guardiola must now inspire one of the biggest comebacks of his reign if City are to maintain their interest in Europe’s elite competition when they meet again next week.
