The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed the arrest of four unauthorized persons near Akure airport in Ondo State.
FAAN Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr Henry Agbebire, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.
He said the arrests followed a danger alert after suspicious people were spotted behind the airport perimeter, near the Eleyewo community.
He added that FAAN Aviation Security, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police and other local security agencies launched a joint search operation.

According to him, there were individuals who tried to escape from the location during the operation carried out by the joint security team.
“Four suspects were finally arrested and handed over to the Sector Police Command for further interrogation,” said Agbebire.
He praised collaboration between aviation security personnel, military, police and local security groups.
“The quick response of security agencies, including Amotekun and members of the public, made the arrest successful,” he added.
