Super Eagles – NFF denies offering Chelle $100,000 a month offer to stay

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) says it is not true that the head coach of the Nigerian senior team, Eric Chelle, was offered a whopping monthly salary of $100,000 to remain as coach of the Super Eagles, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Reports in recent days say that the NFF has offered the coach new terms to keep him in his position for two more years, leaving one more year left on his current contract.

Chelle demands $150,000 a month, and during the week information went viral that the NFF, through the National Sports Commission (NSC), has proposed a salary of $100,000 a month to the Malian, who has a new agent.

An NFF source said those reports were wildly off base as the NFF and NSC have not discussed the next step, after receiving Chelle’s contract demand.

However, he said a meeting is expected before the next four-team tournament in Türkiye, or better yet in June, when they will participate in a series of friendly matches.
