At least 64 people were killed in another attack on a hospital in Sudan, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
Among the dead were 13 children, two nurses, a doctor and several patients at the Al Deain Teaching Hospital in Al Deain.
89 people, including eight health staff, were also injured and the hospital’s pediatric, maternity and emergency departments were all damaged.
“Enough blood has been shed. Enough suffering has been caused,” wrote Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO director general in X.
“The time has come to de-escalate the conflict in Sudan and guarantee the protection of civilians, health workers and humanitarian workers.”
The total number of deaths related to attacks on health facilities during Sudan’s latest war has now reached 2,036, according to WHO.

“Beyond the enormous loss of life, attacks on health services have immediate and long-term consequences for communities in dire need of emergency and routine medical services,” Ghebreyesus said.
The latest attack on Friday night has left the Al Deain Teaching Hospital out of commission and other health facilities to fill gaps in urgent health services.
