Governor Bago appoints Mojeed Ibrahim as sports director of Niger Tornadoes

The Governor of Niger State, Agricultural Governor Umar Muhammad Bago, has approved the appointment of renowned football administrator Abdulmajeed Ibrahim, popularly known as Greenboi, as Sports Director of the Niger Tornadoes of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).

Ibrahim’s appointment was announced as part of the newly formed Niger Tornado Management Committee following the dissolution of the previous committee.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, also includes Suleiman Usman Baban Ramu (Director of Social Welfare), Alhaji Ibrahim Audi (Director of Logistics), Babale Musa SAM (Team Manager), Adamu Yusuf (General Coordinator), George Nuhu Daniya (TMS Officer), Ruqayya Musa Evuti (Director of Media), Mohammed D. Abdullahi (Accountant), Samaila Musa (Administrative Officer) and Jibrin Haruna (Secretary).

According to the Niger State Ministry of Sports, Youth and Social Development, the appointments are aimed at strengthening the administration and management of the club ahead of the new football season, and the new committee is expected to provide effective leadership, improve the club’s performance and advance the sporting aspirations of Niger State.

Widely regarded as a transformative, results-oriented football administrator, Ibrahim has earned a reputation for delivering excellence in every responsibility entrusted to him. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the technical and sporting operations of the Minna club.

Responding to the appointment, Ibrahim expressed his deep gratitude to Governor Umar Muhammad Bago for the trust reposed in him.

“I am deeply honored by this appointment and sincerely thank His Excellency, Agricultural Governor Umar Muhammad Bago, for finding me worthy to serve in Niger Tornadoes in this capacity. I do not take this opportunity for granted and am committed to justifying the trust reposed in me,” he stated.

The new sporting director also thanked the chairman of the management committee, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, for believing in his ability to contribute to the growth of the club.

“I equally thank our Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, for the trust placed in me. I look forward to working closely with him and other members of the management committee to build a competitive team and reposition Niger Tornadoes for sustained success.”

Ibrahim pledged to bring his wealth of administrative experience, professionalism and commitment to excellence to ensure the club achieves its goals both on and off the pitch.

His appointment has been well received by stakeholders, who believe that his leadership qualities, strategic vision and proven track record will play a vital role in repositioning Niger Tornadoes for greater success in the upcoming NPFL season.
