Imo, Rivers ADC rejects the suit and supports David Mark’s leadership

The Imo and Rivers State chapters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have rejected a lawsuit filed against the party’s national leadership, describing it as unauthorized and not reflective of their positions.

In separate statements issued in Abuja, the state presidents, Prof. James Okoroma (Imo) and Chief Leader Sampson (Rivers) said they were neither consulted nor given consent for the legal action.

Both leaders stressed that the lawsuit represents the opinions of the individuals involved and not the official position of their respective state chapters.

Okoroma clarified that the Imo branch and its leadership are not parties, warning against actions that could create unnecessary divisions within the party.

He reaffirmed support for the party’s national leadership under the leadership of Senator David Mark, expressing confidence in the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms.

Likewise, the Rivers State President reiterated his commitment to party unity, internal democracy and respect for the rule of law.

He cautioned members against presenting personal actions as collective party decisions.

Both state chapters urged party members to resolve disagreements through internal channels rather than resort to litigation that could weaken the party structure.

They also reaffirmed the ADC’s focus on strengthening its organization and promoting the interests of its members nationwide.
