Yilwatda, Basiru and others return as Enekwu, Duru abandoned by the NWC


Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has been appointed as the National President of the All Progressives Congress, while Surajudeen Basiru emerged as the National Secretary at the party’s fourth elective National Convention held on Friday evening at Eagle Square, Abuja.

Blueprint reports that they were announced by the Convention Election Committee as part of several officials elected by consensus.

However, the party’s National Vice President, Emmanuel Enekwu, and Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Chidi Duru, were excluded from the National Working Committee (NWC).

Present at the conference were President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and President Tajudeen Abbas.

The conference, themed “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Agenda of Renewed Hope”, was organized by a planning committee led by former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim.
