Three left as Yilwatda, 21 others returned as APC NWC members

Three former members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were removed at the party’s national convention held on Saturday.

The people affected are National Deputy Chairman (South), Hon. Emma Eneukwu, Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Nze Duru and National Financial Secretary, Hon. Bashir Gumel.

The new NWC members were elected through an affirmative vote by a total of over 8,453 delegates from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

They are expected to direct the party’s affairs for the next four years, in accordance with the Constitution.

The newly elected NWC members include the National Chair, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda (Highlands); Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Abubakar Dalori (Borno) and Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr. Ben Nwoye (Enugu).

Others are National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Basiru (Osun); Deputy National Secretary, Prof. Abdulkarim Kana (Nasarawa); National Deputy Chair (North-Central), Mu’azu Rijau (Niger), National Deputy Chair (North East), Dr. Mustapha Salihu (Adamawa) and Deputy National Chairman (North West), Hon. Mohammed Datti (Kaduna).

Also elected were Deputy National Chair (Southeast), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu (Imo); Deputy National Chairman (South-South), Chairman Victor Tom Giadom (Rivers) and Deputy National Chairman (South-West), Isaac Kekemeke (Ondo).

National Legal Advisor, Muritala Kankia (Katsina), National Treasurer, Uguru Ofoke (Ebonyi), National Financial Secretary (Jigawa) and National Organizing Secretary, Suleiman Argungun (Kebbi) were also re-elected at the convention.

Deputy national officers, six national ex-officio members, and zonal officers elected at the six zonal congresses held on March 18 were also appointed along with the NWC members.
