The Nasarawa Accountant General is stepping down and contesting the 2027 gubernatorial election

The Accountant General of Nasarawa State, Musa Mohammed, has resigned from his post to seek the governorship seat in the 2027 elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mohammed made the announcement on Monday in Lafia during a political rally, where he officially declared his ambition to contest for the state’s top job.

Explaining his decision, he said it was driven by persistent pleas from advocates across the state urging him to take the step forward.

“I have decided to sacrifice my stay at the office of the Accountant General of Nasarawa State in response to your call.

“I have resigned from my position. I appreciate my boss, Governor Abdullahi Sule, who has agreed to my resignation to enable me to pursue this ambition.

“I hereby accept your call and offer myself to contest the 2027 gubernatorial election with your support,” he said.

The former Accountant General also assured his supporters of continuity, and promised to continue the progress recorded by the current government if elected.
