Abayomi Ayodeji becomes NPFL Team of the Week after stellar display

Midfielder Abayomi Ayodeji has been named in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Team of the Week following his outstanding performance for Ikorodu City FC in their thrilling 4-3 win over Warri Wolves FC in the matchday 32 fixture in Lagos.

Ayodeji was one of the Oga Boys’ standout players, setting the tone early on with the first goal just in the 8th minute. His influence extended beyond that opening goal, as he played a key role in setting up the attack that led to the team’s third goal.

Initially recorded as an own goal, the effort has been officially credited to the midfielder by the NPFL Goal Panel, further underlining his impact on the contest.

The young midfielder, who joined Ikorodu City from SGFC Athletics during the winter transfer window, has wasted no time in making his presence felt. With two goals already to his name, Ayodeji is quickly becoming a key figure in the team’s setup as they strive for a strong end to the season.
