This year’s Easter Monday promises to be loaded with a touch of festivities and the best of community football action as it will witness the final of the 3rd Chief Adeseko Olugbenga Benson Children’s Cup in Kwara State, Sports247 reports.
The path to Monday’s final became clearer on the third day of the annual competition, when both semi-final matches were played last Thursday, to the delight of the many spectators who gathered en masse to witness two exciting encounters at the same venue.

In the first match of the quarterfinal stage of the competition, Alabama Football Academy defeated Legend Football Academy 3-0; whereupon Arsenal Children’s Football Academy downed Wisdom Football Academy 5-2 in a seven-goal thriller.
That paved the way for what promises to be a highly entertaining climax to all the fixtures in the acclaimed ‘Chief Benson Cup’, when Alabama Football Academy will take on Arsenal Kiddies Football Academy at 4pm in the grand final; which will be preceded by the third place match between Wisdom Football Academy and Legend Football Academy at 3 p.m.
The competition organizers were excited that the best of grassroots football will be offered, while ensuring that there will be enough security for all spectators who want to use the match as part of their Easter Monday celebrations.
They also reiterated that the competent sponsor of the competition has provided for the adequate welfare and refreshment that will be provided to all players, coaches and officials; while during the closing ceremony, prizes, recognitions, medals and certificates will also be awarded.
