Kwara United Queens and FUOYE Dazzlers secure wins in Kwara First Lady Pre-Season Championship Opener

It was a day of exciting football and goals as the Kwara First Lady Pre-Season Women’s Championship kicked off in grand style at the KFA Pitch inside the George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.

Hosts Kwara United Queens recorded a resounding 4-1 victory over Champions Rise to mark a perfect start to their campaign.

The Courageous Queens dominated the game from the start, scoring three goals in the first half to put the contest beyond their opponents.

Mistura Soliu was the star of the show, scoring a brace in the 18th and 35th minutes, while Mariam Yunusa added a third before the break.

Tolu Omoniyi extended the lead early in the second half to complete the rout, while Ayo Pelumi grabbed a late consolation for Champions Rise.

In the first match of the day, Moje Queens and Model Queens played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Yusuf Fathia gave Model Queens the lead in the 34th minute, but Hassan Suliyat restored parity for Moje Queens before the break.

Oladipo Eyinju put Model Queens ahead again, but Joseph Taiwo equalized around the hour mark.

Apex Angels and Wazbak FA also shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a close encounter, with Adebayo Ayanfe and Saturday Goodnews finding the back of the net for their respective teams.

FUOYE Dazzlers recorded a convincing 2-0 victory over Ebira Queens. Ekwe Grace and Nnanni Blessing hit the target as the Ekiti team sealed maximum points.

The tournament, organized by Ultimate Sports Consult and the Kwara State Sports Commission in conjunction with Enact Innovation Hubs, aims to promote and develop women’s football in Kwara State and across Nigeria.

The action continues with more exciting matches as teams battle for supremacy in the competition.
