ProRoute League: KFA dethroned and Dolly P seals title in dramatic final day clash

Dolly P SA has been crowned champion of the 2025/2026 ProRoute League season after an exciting final day that produced goals, tension and late drama.

Heading into the decider matches, Dolly P SA had a narrow lead of one point over their nearest rival, Kwara Football Academy (KFA). The pressure intensified when KFA got off to an early start and claimed a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Zeus FC to temporarily go top of the table.

KFA had already fallen behind in the 4th minute thanks to Gbadebo Idris, but showed resistance to turn the game around. Sulyman Olayinka inspired the comeback with a brace in the 32nd minute and in first-half stoppage time (45+3), before Emmanuel sealed the victory in the 66th minute, keeping KFA’s title hopes alive.

With the spotlight firmly on them, Dolly P knew that only a win would secure the title and they delivered emphatically.

They took the lead in the 20th minute through Paul Nathaniel, but City Boys FC responded almost immediately and Olajide Simeon equalized just four minutes later. Despite creating several clear chances, Dolly P wasted a goal in front of goal and was repeatedly denied by an inspired City Boys goalkeeper, who kept the match finely balanced.

As nerves grew as time went on, Dolly P finally found the breakthrough in the 74th minute, courtesy of Salaty. The goal lifted the pressure and opened the floodgates, as Samuel Olayiwola and Abiodun added late goals to seal a convincing 4-1 victory.

The result confirmed Dolly P as champion, dethroning inaugural champions KFA in what will be remembered as one of the most exciting finishes in league history.
