Noah Okafor scored two goals as Leeds United took a huge step towards Premier League survival by beating Manchester United 2-1 in a thrilling match at Old Trafford on Monday.
Okafor scored two first-half goals to send Leeds to their first league win at Old Trafford since 1981 and United’s problems worsened after the break when Lisandro Martinez received a red card for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair.
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro pulled a goal back with a header in the 69th minute, but Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow pulled off a series of fine saves as his team put in a huge defensive effort to ensure they emerged with the win.
The result marked Michael Carrick’s first home defeat in charge of United.
