Ademola Lookman moved up to third in Nigeria’s all-time UEFA Champions League scoring charts after scoring his eighth goal in the competition on Tuesday evening.

The Nigerian striker scored in Atletico Madrid’s 2-1 defeat against FC Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Despite the defeat, Atletico progressed to the semi-finals with a 3–2 aggregate victory.

The goal represents another milestone in Lookman’s European career, taking his Champions League tally to eight and placing him ahead of several notable Nigerian players in the competition’s history.

He now sits behind only Victor Osimhen and Obafemi Martins in the UCL all-time Nigerian scoring charts.

Former African Footballer of the Year Victor Ikpeba and Nigerian legend Nwankwo Kanu complete the top five.
